Rabat, December 12, 2025 – On the occasion of the Africa Executive Roundtable 2025, held from December 10 to 12 at Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé, under the theme “Energy Transition: Africa Facing the Challenges of Decarbonization,” AATMI took part in strategic discussions bringing together more than 200 public and private decision-makers, government officials, regional institutions, experts, and investors.
Organized by One Africa Forums, this high-level meeting served as an essential platform for dialogue to identify concrete solutions tailored to African realities, in a context marked by intensifying climate challenges and evolving international regulations.
As mechanisms such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) reshape the rules of global trade, African economies are being called upon to adapt their production, transport, and foreign trade models. Anticipating these transformations now appears imperative to preserve the continent’s competitiveness while accelerating its energy transition.
In this context, AATMI, represented by Dr. Alvine Bélise HAPPI, attorney at the Paris and Cameroon Bars, reaffirmed its commitment to more seamless, sustainable, and efficient maritime and intermodal transport.
Speaking during two dedicated sessions, Dr. Alvine Bélise HAPPI provided strategic insights on two major themes:
- “Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Compliance: Constraint or Lever for African Competitiveness?”
This intervention analyzed the impacts of the CBAM on African value chains, as well as actionable levers for the transport, logistics, and international trade sectors. - “Green Ports and Low-Carbon Mobility: Toward Sustainable Hub Corridors”
This session highlighted the technological standards required for port decarbonization and the electrification of road mobility, the synergies between port digitalization and alternative fuels, as well as the importance of inter-port cooperation and the integration of transport into low-carbon strategies.
Through this participation, AATMI reaffirms its commitment to actively contributing to strategic reflections and structuring initiatives aimed at supporting the African continent’s energy transition, by mobilizing legal and operational expertise in service of a sustainable and competitive transformation.
